The first major changes to civil service law, in many years, were signed into law in 2010 and 2011, (Boroughs, First Class Townships Third Class Cites). In 2012, the writing of the New Borough Code added comprehensive changes to civil service law for Boroughs. In 2014, the rewrite of the Third Class City Code includes major changes to civil service law for Third class Cities.  These legislative actions will require civil service communities to comprehensively amend or rewrite their civil service rules and regulations.
