IT (Immediate Transportation): The movement of cargo “In Bond” from the first Customs Port or the point of arrival to another Customs Port or point.
T and E (Transportation and Exportation): The movement of cargo “In Bond” from one Customs Port or point to out of country.
CF-3461 (Immediate Delivery): The release from Customs allowing importer to take receipt of the cargo.
Consumption Entry: The importer takes delivery and pays applicable duty and fees to the United States Customs within 10 working days from the release date on aforementioned CF-3461
Warehouse Entry: The importer stores product in a Customs bonded warehouse so as not to pay any applicable duty and fees, until importer decides he needs the product for sale or production purpose. The product cannot be held for more than 5 years from the date of clearance into the bonded warehouse.
Informal Entry: The entry is valued under $2,500.00.
Formal Entry: The entry is valued over $2,500.00.
FTZ (Foreign Trade Zone): The geographical area within a Customs Port limits, treated as a "foreign country" product in an FTZ, duty has not been paid on, can be worked on while in the FTZ and a lower duty rate paid when leaving FTZ, if a new and different item from when entered into the FTZ. This entry is prominent in the auto industry.
TIB (Temporary Import Bond): The contract between importer and the Customs that is not duty paid on the product but must be exported or destroyed at the end of 12 months from the date of import under Customs supervision. Customs allows two 1-year extensions. Failure to comply, Customs penalty is three time the value of
the shipment.
Drawback Entry: This entry allows 99% refund of regular duty upon the re-export or destruction of imported product under Customs supervision.
