"Larimar is an astounding property. Sitting on top of a hill with a breathtaking view of Cane Bay, the open floor plan of the house creates an atmosphere of being one with the natural beauty surrounding the house. Tropical breezes cooled the open great room all day and evening making it our favorite spot for lounging, eating, reading and just staring at the ever-changing colors of the sea. The view from the balcony off the second floor master bedroom was incredible, especially at night. The pool was refreshing. Humming birds visited the flowering shrubs on the patio daily, and we all got a kick out of the little green geckos scampering everywhere. Peace and tranquility are hallmarks of Larimar. The element not captured by photographs we believe was the most important: Michael, the property manager. Following his suggestions, we saw and experienced things we would not have on our own. He gave us mini-tours on two days and we loved both excursions! Driving through the rain forest, picking fresh mangos, exploring ruins of sugar cane estates, buying beer for pigs, and tasting the special Mamma-wanna drink, enjoying the Sunday-Fun day at Rainbow beach… his restaurant recommendations were spot-on. The GPS device he provided for our use was invaluable. Snorkeling at Cane Bay and lounging on the beach at Carambola were great. The overall friendliness of the locals put us at ease. There are so many more wonderful things we did not get to do that I foresee another trip back to St. Croix and, hopefully, to Larimar, because with Michael as the concierge, the trip will be outstanding!" - July 2014

He made sure we had provisions for our first day and even guided us to our evening restaurant. “We stayed at Villa Larimar for Easter and it was one of the best family trips of our lives. The Villa was fantastic for so many reasons. We had a breathtaking view from every room, there was a beautiful open layout so everyone had plenty of space, the location was very close to the beach and many nice restaurants - however, we didn’t really want to leave because it was so relaxing there! We invited friends to join us on Easter Day and it was the perfect place for entertaining. Thanks to the amazing Villa Manager Mike, we even got a special show from the “fire gypsies” on the veranda around the pool, which we will never forget. Mike was the perfect host and told us everything we needed to know about the island, excursions and places to see. We feel like we had access to a concierge extraordinaire 24/7. We went with our 3 kids and we all had a fabulous time and can't wait to go back. I would highly recommend Villa Larimar to anyone who is looking for the perfect vacation. “We rented Villa Larimar for our daughter's 21st birthday and upon arrival we were mesmerized by the views!! This Villa is nestled in the mountains very close to Cane Bay, which also includes some great restaurants. Michael Hartlage is the onsite caretaker and he is filled with heart, soul and tons of island knowledge. He helped me plan an incredible surprise birthday dinner which included catered dinner by candlelight and an awesome performance from Kiki and the Flaming Fire Dancers. Our hopes were to make sure our daughters 21st birthday was special and Michael made sure this happened!! If you're looking for a true experience of life on St. Croix, then I HIGHLY recommend Villa Larimar. “When I first heard that we would be staying in a house rather than a hotel, I must admit that I was disappointed. When traveling for work, the thought of coming back to a cleaned room is a comfort that I take for granted. But I was pleasantly surprised. The house has an amazing feeling of being very open and part of the environment, as opposed to a building that takes away from the beauty that surrounds you. I can't help but gush over the view. I wanted to thank you personally for sharing your excitement over the island and the property - I don't know how anyone could speak with you and not be excited about life on St. Croix. I also wanted to thank you for the great suggestions on where to visit and what to see. We had a wonderful time visiting with Miss Norma and giving beer to her pigs. That was probably not something we would have found on our own, but it was a highlight of the trip. "This estate was everything you'd expect/want the Caribbean to be. Spectacular views of the north shore and the other U.S.V.I. can be seen on clear days.The house is in a very quiet area, which is great if you want to relax by the pool in the day and it isn't far from anything on the island.You can't beat the price either!I would highly recommend this estate to anyone, especially if you are travelling in a larger group." - May 2014

“What an amazing Christmas week we had as our family gathered from all over to celebrate being together in paradise. This was our first time to St. Croix. The house was all that we had hoped for, with all of her outdoor living, and what a VIEW!!! We could have spent the whole time looking out over the ocean as islands and rainbows come and go. But we were wanting to explore and, thanks to Michael (the on-site property manager), we had new adventures each day and felt like we really experienced the island. Michael was truly a wonderful perk that made our trip so memorable and comfortable. He organized a Christmas show for us at the house with Kiki and the Flaming Gypsies. What a treat!!!
