Klein’s Quality Produce in Elgin, IL has provided the same high standards of quality in our plants as we have for years with our fresh produce. Our plants are grown in greenhouses on our farm, owned and operated by a local family. Read our brief history below to learn more about us:

Our History

1966 - Dad Klein starts farming vegetables and grains. The farm produce is sold in Elgin at 2 roadside stands. We are open from July - Oct. 31 st.

1974 - Permanent indoor market is established on Route 20 to Udina, IL, just west of Elgin.

1985 - Farm and garden market season extended through Dec. 24 th to include the sale of Christmas trees, wreaths and fruit baskets. We are open from July – Dec. 24 th.

1991 - Farm and garden market season extended to include spring plants. Son, Matt and wife, Chris joins the family business. We are open from April – Dec. 24 th.

1999 - A new 2 nd location is added on Lillian Street, 2 blocks east of McLean Boulevard, across from Ziegler’s Ace Hardware in Elgin, IL.

2001 - Son, Dan, joins family business as Shop Manager of the Klein Farm.

Today - We’re Still Growing!
