About Dr. Crist

Essentially, I am a Family Practice medical doctor whose primary focus is on patients with External link opens in new tab or windowborreliosis or Masters' disease. This web site is designed to shed light on this very complex and serious illness. I practice in Ashland, Missouri, USA.

I am originally from Shelbina, Missouri. I attended medical school at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, and did my residency in Family Practice at St. John’s Mercy Medical Center in St. Louis, Missouri. After that I served three years on active duty in the United States Air Force and became an A-10 Flight Surgeon.

In 1988, after leaving the Air Force, I joined a group of medical doctors in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. The group included Edwin J. Masters, M.D., for whom Masters' disease is named. During the five years I practiced medicine with Dr. Masters, I became heavily involved with helping patients with Masters' disease, or more accurately with borreliosis. (Several different bacteria that are borrelia may cause this disease, so borreliosis is a better name.)

Dr. Crist has diagnosed and treated over ten thousand borreliosis patients since 1988.  He has a nationwide and international medical practice.  The very definition of his practice are patients that have failed to respond to traditional orthodox Western medicine, but yet ninety-seven percent get better.  Most chronically ill patients are very complex, and borreliosis is just part of their illnesses.

Do not call Dr. Crist's office to ask for medical advice, information regarding testing or any questions unless you are an active patient. Our staff is not in the business of answering questions. Do call if you would like to make an appointment.
