Save Mart Supermarkets, founded in 1952, is a full service grocery store chain that’s family owned and operated – a rarity these days. Our family knows why your family shops. Sure, we have over 200 stores, but each one is a real neighborhood market. The smiling Save Mart employees you see every day are also your neighbors. That’s one reason why Save Mart is the go-to store for families like yours.

First things first. We aren't a warehouse club, and there's no membership fee. You don't need to show a card to get in the door, and everybody is welcome, always.

The inside of our magazine is printed on paper containing 80% recycled content. The covers are printed on paper containing 10% post-consumer waste.

In the 1990’s, Lucky introduced larger footprint supermarkets with service departments including bakeries, delis, floral and photo departments. Lucky underwent an acquisition in 1998 and was re-branded in 2000.

Then, in 2007, Modesto-based Save Mart Supermarkets purchased many of those stores in Northern California. And in that same year, we brought the Lucky brand back to Bay Area residents through store conversions, along with the same values of quality, freshness and service that the brand started with in the beginning.
