Roderick Giles, CEO


Roderick Giles is a native Washingtonian. He has been singing since age 5 and since then has come to realize that music is his passion. At the age of 13, he traveled to Europe as one of the lead soloist with the Children’s Gospel Choir of America where he was a member for 4 years.
He later attended Eastern High School and was a member of the world renowned Eastern High School Choir. He studied under and credits his musical expertise to the highly esteemed, Dr. Joyce Garrett, his mentor.
He is a dedicated member and a lead soloist of Patrick Lundy and the Ministers of Music, and the Founder and Leader of the group “Grace.”
He has performed with countless greats including Diana Ross, Karen Clark Sheard, Dorinda Clark Cole, Elbernita “Twinkie” Clark collectively known as the world renowned “Clark Sisters,” Kierra Sheard, Yolanda Adams, Kirk Franklin, Take 6, LaShun and Duranice Pace of “The Pace Sisters,” Shirley Caesar, Dorothy Norwood, Beverly Crawford, BeBe Winans, Kelly Price, Mary Mary, Ted Winn, Stephen Hurd, Kim Burrell, Sheri Jones Moffett, Y’Anna Crawley and Le’Andria Johnson and many others. He rendered background vocals for Stephen Hurd’s CD projects “Times of Refreshing” and “O That Men Would Worship.”
Roderick is a remarkable singer, arranger, composer, clinician, director, vocal producer, and vocal coach. He has composed music for Sheri Jones Moffett’s CD Project with the track entitled “Power,” Isaiah Thomas and Elements of Praise’s CD Project “God of All Times” for the track entitled “Savior Divine,” Patrick Lundy & The Ministers of Music’s CD Project “Determined” and “By Faith” for the track entitled “Speak Life” and “No One Deserves It,” Charles Butler & Trinity’s CD Project “The Blood Experience” for the track entitled “There Is a Fountain,” Mike McCoy and the Voices United’s CD project “Continue 2 Continue” for the track entitled “Get Thee Hence”
In 2008 & 2009, Roderick directed The SBC Chorale, which is the choir that won regionally, two consecutive years for the Verizon Wireless “How Sweet the Sound” choir competition hosted by Donald Lawrence.
In 2012 through 2016, Roderick was the director and lead singer of The Harlem Gospel Choir (DC Division) that performed weekly at The Howard Theatre in Washington, DC.
In September 2013, Roderick served as the vocal producer/arranger on the 52nd recording (LIVE) for gospel great Dorothy Norwood who is a member of the legendary gospel group “The Caravans.” Dorinda Clark Cole, VaShawn Mitchell and Melvin Williams (The Williams Brothers) also performed as special guest artists during the recording. Because of the success of that recording, Dorothy Norwood asked Roderick again to be the vocal producer for her next recording and in October 2017, she recorded her 53rd recording (LIVE) with special guests artists, Bishop Rance Allen, Beverly Crawford, Patrick Lundy & MOM (as the choir) and Roderick Giles & Grace (as the front line session singers).
In December 2014, Roderick and his singers, “Grace”, traveled to Czech Republic and several cities in Italy on a European Tour that extended nearly 3 weeks. In December 2015, they completed their 2nd European Tour in which they traveled to Switzerland, Sardinia and several cities in Italy. Thereafter, they returned again (December 2017 & 2018) and completed their 3rd and 4th European Tour in which they traveled to several other cities in Northern and Southern Italy. With each tour, they presented standing-room only concerts to the European culture.
In August 2015, Roderick and Grace recorded the song “Overflow” with Bryan Andrew Wilson which they received 2 Stellar Award nominations in January 2017.
In August 2016, Roderick and Grace were invited to appear for the first time on the stage of the historic Blues Alley Jazz Club. That appearance resulted in them having 2 sold-out shows. As a result of the success of that appearance, they were invited back in October 2017.
In December 2019, Roderick performed with the Grammy Award Winning Group, “Take 6” as their lead soloist on the song (originally sung by Stevie Wonder) “O Thou That Tellest Good Tidings To Zion” from Handel’s Messiah: “A Soulful Celebration” at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
In January 2020, Roderick performed with Global Iconic Sensation, Ms. Diana Ross where he was highlighted by Ms. Ross to sing lead on the song closing her show “I Will Survive” (for 2 nights) at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
Most importantly, Roderick loves the word of God. One of his favorite passages of scripture is Galatians 6:9 KJV and it reads: “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”
