Meet Kenneth L. Hayes, President/Owner
As a teacher, coach and athletic director in the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County school system for 33 years, I have devoted my professional life to young people. I served as Tour Director of Winston-Salem Grand Western Tours for those same 33 years and then became
President/Owner for twenty-one years.
Travel is an important aspect of my personal life as well, with excursions throughout the United States, Mexico, Canada, Europe, and Asia. I also enjoy playing golf. It is my sincerest hope that our young people take every opportunity to experience life to the fullest, which is why I offer the Winston-Salem Grand Western Tours. Perhaps you will join us this year!
Glenn Jordan, Tour Director
Upon returning from each of my thirteen trips with The Grand Western Tour, I never failed to realize that I'd just lived one of the most positive stretches of the year. Thanks to all of you for making it possible.
I've spent 26 years teaching middle school, the past 18 at Western Rockingham Middle School, in Madison, North Carolina. Over the years, I've taught seventh and eighth grade social studies, math and science. I also coach track and field.
I enjoy long, daily walks with my 82-pound pit bull and a yellow lab, tipping the scales around 110. I also enjoy history, music, politics, sports and gazing at Kansas wheat fields through a bus window, but not always in that order. I look forward to the summer!
Donna Lane, Administrative Assistant
Donna has been assisting Ken with the Grand Western Tour since 2001! Donna gained a lot of her knowledge and skills while working as a legal secretary in Tennessee and North Carolina, until she became a stay-at-home Mom. Surviving ovarian cancer at 27 years of age, she was left with severe lymphedema that has now kept her homebound. However, that doesn’t stop Donna! After being widowed at age 37, she has done free lance work from her home as an administrative assistant since the early 90’s. She loves crafts, collecting antiques, music, and dark chocolate! She presently has four at-home businesses that she manages.Donna is always happy to answer any questions that you might have, or find the right answer to ease your concerns. Ken counts on Donna to make sure everything runs smoothly on our trip and you can too!
